Celebrating years of consistency, community, and connection.
At Dignus Group, we know that when families, team members, and the people we support work together, truly remarkable outcomes can be achieved.
At Colliers, that spirit of collaboration shines through in everything the team does – from their thriving Family Forum to six years of stability without a single long-term vacancy.
Family Forum and Collaboration
Every quarter, Colliers opens its doors to host a Family Forum, welcoming families and the people we support for an afternoon of connection, discussion, and shared ideas.
“We make it a real event,” explains Donna Bradley, Home Manager at Colliers. “We put on tea, coffee, sandwiches, and cakes, and it’s a relaxed space to talk about what’s gone well, what we can do better, and what families would love to see next.”
The forums have sparked countless positive changes – from Mother’s Day celebrations, family barbecues, and day trips to Blackpool, to new ideas like healthier meal planning and more person-centred bedroom designs.
“A mum mentioned she wanted to help her son with healthier eating,” says Donna. “So we put together a meal planner and shopping list – now she comes every Wednesday to shop with him. It’s made such a difference.”
Each meeting ends not just with shared ideas, but with real action. Whether it’s creating gift bags for families, organising a Christmas grotto with a snow machine, or setting up bingo nights and buffets, the focus is always on togetherness.
“It’s about working with families to get the home right,” Donna adds. “It’s made our relationships stronger than ever.”
Team and Culture
The consistency of Colliers is extraordinary – no vacancies in six years, and a team that has grown stronger together.
“We’re more like a family unit,” Donna says. “Everyone here works together, supports each other, and celebrates together. The people we support are at the heart of everything we do.”
The home’s success stems from robust care plans, consistent team members, and a commitment to teamwork. When challenges arise, the team works closely with professionals and families to find solutions that allow people to stay in their home, rather than move to hospital settings.
“We had someone last year who was struggling, and we thought the hospital might be the next step. But through partnership and training, he’s still here – thriving. His brother is now involved in his life again, and he recently stayed overnight with him for the first time in years. He’s even going home for Christmas this year.”
That combination of care, persistence, and teamwork reflects the Dignus ethos perfectly – brave decisions that lead to better lives.
Outcomes and Reflection
Donna has been with Colliers for over eleven years, beginning her career as a Support Worker and progressing to her current role as Home Manager through her hard work and dedication to the people we support. Many of the people living there have been with her from the start, forming bonds that feel more like family than work.
“It’s about building relationships and making people feel safe,” she reflects. “We go above and beyond – at Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day – we make sure everyone celebrates just like any other family would.”
This dedication extends beyond the walls of Colliers and into the wider community. The team has built strong, lasting relationships with neighbours, local churches, and community groups.
“We’ve worked hard to build trust locally,” Donna says. “Now our neighbours join in on street celebrations like the Jubilee. They even bring doughnuts or pop in to invite us to community events – it’s lovely.”
A Home in Every Sense of the Word
Colliers stands as a shining example of what happens when care is rooted in consistency, collaboration, and heart. Families are partners, the team is united, and the people supported truly thrive.
“We’re not just a service,” says Donna proudly. “We’re a home – one where everyone belongs.”
Brave decisions. Better lives.
